Matthew Spotten
Electrical and Computer Engineer
Junior Electrical Engineering Student at BYU-Idaho, focused on PCB design, debugging, and firmware development.
What I’m Looking For
I'm passionate about hardware and am interested in working with firmware, software, and AI technologies. I'm looking for engineering opportunities where I can contribute to a team and solve real-world problems.
Featured Projects
As a curious and self motivated individual, I have worked on several personal projects.
I invite you to check them out!
The Builder’s Mindset
I've always been fascinated by electronics and circuits. When I was ten years old I got a snap circuit set with a picaxe microcontroller.
I became fascinated by its capabilities and started tinkering with arduinos when I was eleven.
I became interested in driving displays with these boards while writing optimized code to drive them as fast as possible.
This led me to learning about other kinds of microcontrollers with more capabilities and hardware peripherals.
I started building several projects including a fully custom STM32, GPS, bluetooth smart watch starting my sophomore year of high school.
My facination in the areas of harware and firmware design has led me to pursue a degree at BYU-Idaho in the field of Electrical Engineering.
